Purchased the ZX6800 – impressed with initial use startup etc., I have been a loyal customer of Dell for many years and was attracted to the design of this Gateway product – I give it a try.
After 2 weeks of use – received BSoD’s –
Contact Gateway and they recommend reinstallation of Factory only software – I do so – and wait and get BSoD’s.
Escalate thru Gateway org and am instructed to run something called GWSCAN – which I do and which finds nothing wrong.
Escalate thru Gateway org and am instructed to put machine into “proper” packaging for shipment to their service center. I attempt to describe the sensitivity of shipping a large flat panel display of any kind and indicate that damage which might result during transit cannot be my problem – – I request they send a replacement along with associated proper packaging in hopes of getting this problem solved AND in hopes of getting the defective hardware returned to them as safely as possible (the problem is highly intermittant and does not seem to repeat under consistant scenarios – e.g., just let it sit long enough and you eventuallly BSOD – so, very difficult for their tech to verifiably FIX) – request is continually refused all the way to the top. I speak with the “top” and ask for her boss – and she refuses !
So far have found that disabling (in BIOS and in Windows power management) all SLEEP functions – may have solved the problem . .. . .
Please note that we’ve wasted a lot of time on the 90 day warranty. . . . and I may or may not have solved the problem on my own . . . P.S. – I pity anyone who is not technically saavy who tries to go through something like this !
In any case – I cannot recommend Gateway. I have had considerable experience with Dell and this is not the way they treat their customers

Keep up the great work with this site. I like the design too.
